How is the price calculated?
The estimate is based on real, current pricing from our most recent installs across Mabank, Cedar Creek Lake Area, and DFW. We update the underlying numbers quarterly to reflect actual equipment costs and labor rates. The price you see assumes:
- Standard residential install (no unusual access challenges)
- Existing electrical panel can support the new system
- Standard equipment placement (no rooftop, crane, or unusual mounting)
- Permits included where required
- Manufacturer warranty registration completed
- 1-year labor warranty
Real pricing always requires an in-home assessment to verify the load calculation, ductwork condition, electrical capacity, and any property-specific factors. Our in-home estimates are always free and never high-pressure. You can use the estimate to compare to other quotes — most homeowners do.
Why we publish honest pricing
Most HVAC websites bury pricing because they want you on the phone with a salesperson before you can comparison shop. We do the opposite. Honest, upfront pricing builds trust. If our prices aren't competitive, you should know that before scheduling a visit. They are — but you get to decide that, not us.
HVAC Installation Pricing FAQs
How accurate is the instant quote?
The estimate is based on our real, current pricing from recent Mabank / DFW installs, updated quarterly. It's accurate within ±10-15% for standard residential installs on typical homes. The final price depends on your specific ductwork condition, electrical capacity, and any site-specific factors (attic access, code upgrades, etc.) — which we confirm during a free in-home estimate.
How much does a new AC system cost in Mabank and DFW?
Fully-installed AC system pricing runs $7,000-$30,000 depending on tonnage, efficiency tier, and ductwork condition. Most homeowners land in the $9,000-$14,000 range for a mid-efficiency (16 SEER2) 3-4 ton system. Basic straight-cool systems start around $7,000; premium variable-speed inverter systems can reach $30,000. All prices include equipment, labor, permits, and 10-year warranty.
What size AC do I need for a 2,000 sq ft home in Texas?
As a rule of thumb, Texas homes typically need about 1 ton per 500-600 sq ft of conditioned space. A 2,000 sq ft home usually needs a 3.5-4 ton AC. But we always do a proper Manual J load calculation before installing — square footage isn't the only factor. Insulation quality, window count and orientation, ceiling height, and air infiltration all matter.
How much does a heat pump cost installed?
Heat pump installation runs $7,400-$17,200 fully installed depending on tonnage and efficiency tier. Most homeowners in Mabank / DFW spend $9,200-$14,800 for a mid-tier 16 SEER2 heat pump. Qualifying high-efficiency heat pumps get up to a $2,000 federal tax credit under the Inflation Reduction Act, potentially reducing net cost to $7,200-$12,800.
How much does a mini-split cost?
Single-zone mini-split installation starts at $1,399 for a basic 9,000-12,000 BTU wall-mount system. Multi-zone systems (2-5 zones) run $4,200-$9,400+ depending on zone count and equipment. Ceiling cassettes, concealed-duct units, and premium brands (Mitsubishi, Daikin) cost more. See our mini-split installation page for full pricing detail.
Do you offer financing on new HVAC systems?
Yes. 0% APR financing for 12-18 months for qualified buyers, and reduced-rate 60-84 month plans for larger installs. Approval usually within minutes. Application takes 5 minutes during your free in-home estimate. We work with Synchrony, Wells Fargo, and Service Finance so we can usually find a financing path even for tougher credit situations.
Why is your quote higher/lower than another company's?
Real pricing varies for real reasons: system efficiency tier (SEER2 rating), brand quality tier (Trane/Carrier vs Goodman), ductwork modifications, code upgrades, tonnage sizing accuracy, and warranty coverage. If our quote is dramatically different from another, ask both companies to detail exactly what's included. We provide free second-opinion diagnostics — bring us another quote and we'll help you compare apples-to-apples.
Do I need to replace my ductwork with a new AC?
Sometimes. If your ductwork is well-sealed, correctly sized, and free of major leaks, we can reuse it. If your existing ducts are undersized (common with older 2-ton systems being upgraded), poorly sealed, or original to a 30-year-old home, replacing them usually pays back within 5-7 years through lower bills and better comfort. We inspect during the free in-home estimate and give honest options.
What's the difference between SEER2 tiers (14, 16, 18, 20)?
SEER2 is the efficiency rating — higher = more cooling per dollar of electricity. 14 SEER2 is the current federal minimum. 16 SEER2 hits the payback sweet spot for most Texas homes (2-3 year payback vs 14 SEER2). 18-20 SEER2 systems are variable-speed inverters with better humidity control and quieter operation, but the extra cost takes 8-12 years to recoup in energy savings alone.
How long does a new system installation take?
A standard residential AC or heat pump replacement (equipment swap, no ductwork changes) is a one-day job, usually 6-8 hours. Full system replacements with new ductwork run 2-3 days. Multi-zone mini-split installs run one day per 2-3 zones. We schedule most installs within a week of quote acceptance.
Do you provide free in-home estimates?
Yes. Free, in-home, no obligation, no high-pressure sales. We measure your home, do a Manual J load calculation, inspect your ductwork and electrical, and give you a written flat-rate quote you can comparison shop. Most estimates take 30-45 minutes on-site plus written quote delivered same day or next business day.
What warranty do I get on a new system?
10-year manufacturer parts warranty (we register it for you within 60 days of install so it isn't defaulted to 5-year coverage). Plus 1-year labor warranty from us. Extended labor warranties available for 5-10 years at additional cost. Manufacturer warranty requires documented annual maintenance to stay valid — our written tune-up reports cover that.
